8. Sydney Harbour National Park

 Sydney Harbour National Park protects large swathes of bushland around the harbour shoreline, plus several harbour islands. Besides greenery, this national park has one of the most breath-taking scenic lookouts. You’ll also find walking tracks, Aboriginal carvings, beaches and a historic sites.

Tips: A short distance away at Watson Bays, the Beach Club restaurant offers one of the best Fish and Chips in town. Its beer-battered fish is something not to be missed! Be sure to make reservation as this waterfront restaurant is popular with locals and tourists alike.

Situated about two hours’ drive from Sydney, Hunter Valley is the oldest wine-growing region in Australia with over 150 wineries.

Visit some of the cellars and sample a broad selection of wines such as cabernet sauvignon, shiraz, chardonnay and merlot. You can also join a wine tasting master class.

Besides wine, the local producers also offers samples of cheeses and dairy goods, hand-made chocolates, bread and olive oils.

Tips: Best times to visit Hunter Valley is in Spring (Sept to Nov) and Summer (Dec to Feb), where the vines, hills and pastures are beautiful, lush and green.

Located just a few hours away from Sydney, Blue Mountains National Park is famous for its blue-tinged beauty and Three Sisters rock formation.

The World Heritage Area has one million hectares of tall forests, sandstone cliffs, canyons, waterfalls and bushland. It has been a popular spot to bushwalk, hike, climb, mountain-bike and abseil. You can also explore the underground rivers and chambers of Jenolan Caves, if caving is your fancy.
