Anyone who has been to Bali will be no stranger to Naughty Nuri’s succulent pork ribs. Famous for their “wicked ribs” and “brutal martinis”, Naughty Nuri’s signature pork ribs is indeed one of the best I’ve eaten.
The ribs are specially marinated with Balinese spice and char grilled to perfection with a special sauce till its flavour has enhanced. So soft and juicy that no heavy cutting is required because the meat can be peeled off the bones effortlessly with your fingers. Add on the spicy sauce that comes with it for some extra kick.
Naughty Nuri’s 1995 Signature BBQ Spare Ribs (RM47). You’ll find the signature pork ribs served on ceramic tiles on every table because this dish is the reason all the patrons are here. Some may find the portion smaller and pricier compared to the original warung in Bali, but I find the pricing reasonable for such a sizable slab. The ribs could easily costs more at any western restaurant in KL. Also, taste wise, I reckon Naughty Nuri’s pork ribs is going to win hands down.
Every porky-lovers dream platter. This Grilled Hog’s Platter (RM40) comes with 4 different version of pork – roasted pork, Hakka pork, Thuringer bratwurst sausage and Italian Sausage. Besides the pork ribs, this is also another must-order dish. Everyone loves the pork sausages; they were nicely spiced, juicy and has a peppery taste to them. I, on the other hand, can’t get enough of the roast pork. So crispy, yet soft.
This Naughty Quack-Quack salad (RM24.80) comes with silver golden fish, longan, dragon fruit, sweeten pineapple, cherry tomato topped with crispy pulled duck, and dress with dragon bunga kantan sauce. We ordered this to counter our guilt for all the meat we were having. However, the salad was nothing to shout about.
The Indonesian Style Mee Goreng (RM23) is the porky version of maggi goreng, with sliced pork belly and a side of succulent roast pork. The noodles were a little overcooked – it wasn’t springy enough. Taste wise, it was still good. Maybe pork makes everything better.
Naughty Nuri’s now has 3 locations in KL, but we visited the one in Desa Sri Hartamas. Naughty Nuri’s is always packed during dinner and they only take reservation if you have a party of 6 or more. For walk-ins and party of less than 6, we advise that you go early (as early as 6pm or before 7pm) before the big crowd pours in.
Overall, the winner of the night was Naughty Nuri’s signature pork ribs. The rest of the food were decent but the prices were slightly on the steeper side, especially the mee goreng.
