Kilim Geoforest Park is one of the three main conservation areas in Langkawi that is given a World Geopark status by UNESCO. Located at the northeast tip of Langkawi, this 100sq km park comprises of beautiful blue lagoons, mangrove forests and white Langkawi beaches. The best way to explore this protected landscape is via tour or riverboat cruise along Kilim River. 5. Meet the Penguins at Underwater World Langkawi

Located at Pantai Cenang towards the southern part of the island, Underwater World Langkawi is a must visit tourist destination in Langkawi. Besides being Malaysia’s largest aquaria, the Underwater World is also one of the largest marine and fresh water aquaria in South East Asia.

With more than 200 different species of marine and freshwater creatures in a six acres building, the Underwater World has lots to offer. Among the species housed are harbour seals, rockhopper penguins, sharks, giant rays and more. More info

Telaga Tujuh Waterfalls is said to be the most beautiful waterfall in Langkawi. Its name means Seven Well Waterfalls, referring to a series of seven connected natural pools fed by seven separate waterfalls in Langkawi’s second highest mountain, Mount Mat Cincang. Legend has it that the fairies were so captivated by the beauty of the place that they made Telaga Tujuh as their bathing place. Makam Mahsuri or Mahsuri’s Tomb is the cypst of Mahsuri binti Pandak Mayah, a maiden who was said to have a great influence on the fate and the historical roots on Langkawi. According to legend, Mahsuri was the most beautiful woman in all of Langkawi and the heartthrob of all the men, but was accused of adultery because of jealousy.
